These blazers are a great staple for any guy's wardrobe - case in point, this grey jersey fabric from LBM 1911 looks incredible with 95% of the colors you pair it with.  Brown, black, charcoal, green, red, tan - almost any pant is a natural complement.  The fabric has a soft natural stretch and a close fit.

Speaking of color, we recently participated in a segment on our local Fox syndicate about Pantone's color of 2014 - Radiant Orchid, a vivid shade of heliotrope.  Our outfit is at 2:04, and we chose a LBM 1911 neutral blazer ($795) to offset the Aglini shirt ($245) and Giorgio Armani tie ($150).  Not shown but equally fabulous are our cabochon Amethyst cufflinks from Blake Green at $695, in sterling silver settings.

This fabric must be worn to be believed. It's a relatively tightly woven fabric - with a sweatery hand that gives *JUST* enough stretch to be flexible, without losing the shape of the garment. CELEBRITY SIGHTING - ADAM SCOTT IN LBM 1911

NBC's Parks and Recreation star Adam Scott did a hilarious photoshoot for Maxim Magazine recently, wearing some of the season's best preppy-nerdy-chic ensembles, including this terrific jacket by Luigi Bianchi Mantova.

One of the best things about jackets which are unlined, unconstructed, and generally soft (like these styles) is the capability of using heavier, loftier fabrics without feeling over-warm.  Because there is no Bemberg lining (a fine nylon used for suits and sport coats) the coats don't trap as much heat, making them comfortable from September through March, and often more.

MANNEQUIN MOMENTS PART II - GAULTIER AND JUVONEN

Outfits by Jean-Paul Gaultier, LBM 1911, and Samuelsohn

This installation took its colors from Peter Juvonen's fabulous abstract art, with tones of teal, salmon, acid yellow and royal blue. Our ladies are wearing Gaultier Soleil's fabulous printed chiffon tunics, which can be draped on the body multiple different ways and worn with different underpinnings to create different effects. During the day, wear them with a tank and leggings, at night, with a simple full slip.  Our gentlemen are similarly versatile - their "spezzato" (unconstructed) jackets perfect for chinos during the day and wool slacks for evening.

Both of these were really exciting to me, in very different ways. The jacket is a beautiful fabric - a dove gray silk and linen blend that's incredibly light and soft, but not as "wrinklesome" as a true linen would be on its own. The pant...well - if you know me, you'll know that these have my name written all over them, and they're a pleasure to wear. Modern, but not skinny...soft, but not flimsy...casual, but not sloppy...and BOY ARE THEY PINK!
