CONSTRUCTION SLIDESHOW

In case you haven't seen it yet, check out our Construction Slideshow! 8 weeks of work (NOT a lot of time for a project this big!) and a fabulous moving-day party culminated in our beautiful new space on 6th and Union.

40 years, and it feels like the first!

WRITE-UP IN THE PSBJ

We'd like to thank our friends at the Puget Sound Business Journal for an EXCELLENT write-up about our recent move - and to all the fantastic friends who helped us get there.  Truly a wonderfully fun day.

LAST DAY IN THE STORE

Look how empty 1408 Fifth looks without all its fixtures! In case you didn't remember, in the top photograph there was a wallet display case, as well as a bank of cupboards where we gift-wrapped packages. In the below photo, we had two glass display cases on top of the beige fabric full of suits - all gone to new homes.

Our first official day of business in the new store is Monday, March 3 - we're looking forward to seeing all our friends in the new store!

MORE FROM THE MOVING

Removing LED bulbs and replacing them with Halogen - taking all our bulbs with us is very green!
This piece is getting re-finished for the Ladies fitting rooms
One more bulb and you're done!

THE MOVING - VAULTED CEILINGS

The ceiling clearance in our new store - for the most part - is 2-3 feet higher than our current space, but in the tailor shop we really open things up - check out these amazing vaulted ceilings and the street-level windows looking down.

THE MOVING - PAINTING DAY

Apparently painting a large-scale space involves standing on stilts. Who knew?

THE MOVING

This large étagére is going to be repurposed in our new Made-To-Measure area.  Today was the first real heavy-lifting move in our current space...it really hits you hard to see images like this - THIS IS REAL! We'll be out of this space and in the new store March 1.

PHASE 2 PHOTOS

Framing in sales area - near our new courtyard entrance
We're in phase 2 of construction - after demo-ing the old flooring and removing key parts of the old construction, we've installed metal framework for our new presentation tailor shop, a new courtyard entrance to Two Union Square, and more!

FURTHER PROGRESS IN OUR NEW SPACE

Back of house
So many wonderful changes happening in our new space - this week we do more work installing flooring and ceiling options, after we install new drywall, and new electrical systems.
Soon to be our presentation tailor shop

WE'RE MOVING!

Our new space faces 6th avenue - on the right side of the building pictured
Yes you read that correctly! After nearly 40 years in our space at 1408 Fifth Avenue, we have decided to seek a fresh new start in a new space. Don't worry - the new space is only a block away at the gorgeous 2 Union Square complex, across the street from the Washington Athletic Club.  Our move-in date is March 1 - stay tuned for exciting news and events as we pack.
